Thank you for using SafeMeal. This policy explains what data we collect, why, who it's shared with, and how you can have it deleted.
1. Who we are
SafeMeal is developed and maintained independently. Our scoring methodology is based on public data from recognized scientific and health institutions (EFSA, ANSES, IARC, Monash University FODMAP research) - never personalized medical advice. 2. Data we collect
SafeMeal works right after install, with no account required (anonymous session). Depending on how you use it, we collect:
- Account identifier: a unique technical identifier, and your email address if you create an account (email, Google, or Apple)
- Health profile data: allergies, dietary sensitivities (sugars, salt, saturated fat), additive tolerance, FODMAP diet and protocol phase, dietary choices (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free)
- Tracking journal (if you use it): symptoms, Bristol stool scale, medication intake, weight, stress/sleep levels - all entries are optional
- In-app activity: scanned product history, favorites, searches
- Subscription status: whether your Premium subscription is active (never your payment details, handled exclusively by Apple/Google)
The camera is only used to decode a barcode locally on your device: no photo is ever sent to or stored by SafeMeal.
3. Why we collect this data
This data is used exclusively to calculate your personalized score and power your profile, history, favorites, tracking journal, and Premium subscription. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
4. Data sharing
Your data is processed by the following technical providers, solely to make the app work:
- Supabase: authentication only (account, sign-in)
- RevenueCat: Premium subscription management (status, renewal)
- Railway: hosting of our database (profiles, history, favorites, journal)
We never share your data with third parties for commercial or advertising purposes. Product information displayed (name, brand, nutritional values) comes from a public, open database - no data about you is sent to it.
5. Security and encryption
All data exchanged between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
6. Deleting your account and data
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data (profile, history, favorites, tracking journal) at any time by emailing axel.code.pro@outlook.com from the email address linked to your account. Your request will be processed within 30 days at most, and you will receive a confirmation once deletion is complete.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
If you reside in the European Union, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, and port your data, as well as the right to object to its processing. Contact us at the address above to exercise these rights.
8. Children's privacy
SafeMeal is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children of this age.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy. Any significant change will be communicated via the app or this website.
